What does your clinic look like at this moment? 

Does it resemble a last minute trip to HomeGoods?

Could it be confused for the local thrift market? 

Or worse, does your decor give off ‘cheap chinese buffet’ vibes?

I shouldn’t have to remind you of this but first impressions are important. Your clinic should present itself as an innovative medical center.  It’s aesthetic should provide a pleasant ambiance, enhance the patient experience and of course, promote healing and wellness. 

While your front desk and waiting areas are major players in that positive first impression, let’s start with your treatment rooms. 

Each should have a rolling stool and a medical step stool – essential for consultations and treatments that require a seated position and ensuring that ALL of your patients, regardless of ability, have safe and easy access to your treatment tables. I prefer each treatment room to have a standing lamp, as the overhead lights in most office spaces can be harsh and counterproductive in promoting relaxation. 

So that each patient has a pleasant and comfortable experience I provide both recliners and treatment tables. To ensure the safety of all of your patients I suggest you should use table paper – This eliminates the laundering process and allows for quick turnover of treatment rooms. The table paper below fits my beds nicely and you’ll need the attachment to keep the table paper attached to the bed.

Each treatment room should also have distinct storage for supplies necessary to most, if not all treatments. At minimum, I suggest the following:

To ensure patient comfort I encourage you to have Mylar blankets on hand. These are a safe and cost effective way to keep patients warm without affecting the needles.

When it comes to performing efficient and effective treatments, you’ll need the items below.  These can be stored in each treatment room for easy access.

Specific treatments, injections in particular, require another set of supplies. These are better kept in a supply closet or lab. The first item you’ll find is a trolley cart. This is essential to keeping all your supplies organized and easily mobile.

Outside of the patient treatment rooms you’ll need tools to maintain patient traffic flow, track patient treatments and make sure that patients are attended to and treated in an effective and efficient manner. White boards, glass or otherwise, should be mounted out of patient view to protect patient privacy and comply with HIPPA regulations.
